MIRACUM-Medical Informatics in Research And Care in University Medicine

Martin Boeker from our Department is PI for Freiburg in a consortium consisting of 8 Partners (7 University Medical Faculties/Hospitals plus the German Cancer research Center DKFZ), which was selected for the conceptual phase of the Medical Informatics Initiative from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The goal of this funding initiative is to improve and foster research as well as patient care with the help of innovative IT solutions. Those It-solutions shall combine data from patient care, clinical and biomedical research from various Partners and enable the access and use of these data for research and quick transfer into clinical practice. Seven Consortia are currently funded for the conceptual phase (August 1st 2016 – April 30th 2017).
