Genetic variability in epigenetic regulators as risk factors for lymphomas

Principal Investigator: Alexandra Nieters, Center for Chronic Immunodeficiency, Freiburg

Researchers: Anne-Sophie Stöhlker (IMBI and FDM)

Description

Primary risk and predictive factors for Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) have already been determined based on epidemiological studies from the InterLymph Consortium with more than 5.000 NHL cases and 3.000 controls. In the actual project, a secondary analysis will be performed to investigate the relevance of genetic variability of important epigenetic factors and their interaction with environmental factors for the etiology of NHL and NHL-subtypes with the aim to generate hypotheses for later validations in the context of prospective studies.
